What's New With You

Kern County Chapter was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve the National Board at the Anaheim Annual Training Conference.  The Chapter provided some of the decorations that adorned the tables during the morning sessions and the Welcoming Reception.  We also hosted the President’s Reception.   The Chapter President was awarded the National President’s 2008 Award for this support.  The chapter has been working diligently on increasing membership so we can maintain our goal of having the largest county chapter in California.  There are other counties giving us a run for our money.  We have sponsored many departmental activities, Americana Days,  Black History Week, Employee Appreciation Month, Mexican Independence Day Week just to name a few.  The Chapter, through its’ fund-raising efforts, was also able to send three members to the National Conference.  We have three members on the State Board as well, Angie Gonzalez, Sarah Ross (State Board Secretary), and Debbie Spears, our Chapter President and State Board President.
Elections will take place soon so look for our updates.

Sincerely,

Debbie Spears
Kern County Chapter President
